Freida Kirkland, owner/artist at Deer Mountain Wood Art, has been creating custom heirloom treasures, with an emphasis in Intarsia (“painting” with natural wood), for over seven years. All of her creations are handmade using traditional tools and natural domestic and exotic wood that is primarily recycled. Freida specializes in wildlife wood art and her passion for capturing nature's beauty is evident, especially in the wildlife Intarsia pieces she creates.
She has actively supported various causes, such as EFA charities, since I began selling my art in 2004. Recently, art donations and monies raised by sales have gone to support groups such as the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation(RMEF) and the Defenders of Wildlife. Health, safety, and effective stewardship for the animals helps us all.
